10 At The End – August 2026

Gratitude, Happenings, Observations โ€ฆ

1. After a crazy June and busy July, August brought slower days and sweet joys, including celebrating my pregnant daughter at her baby shower.

2. Sunsets on the water.

3. A wonderful, relaxing getaway with my beloved friend. Spending time together was a treasure, especially since we now live in different states. Iโ€™m thankful for friendship.

4. Pesticide-free, fresh cucumbers from my lovely neighbor’s garden.

5. Desserts turned out adorable and delicious for my daughter’s baby shower.

6. My 29-yr old daughter came into town to celebrate her sister. What fun to have both of my girls together for several days!

7. August reads – stay tunedโ€ฆmore details on these later this week.

8. A walk through Sarah P. Duke Gardens at Duke University – more photos on Wednesday.

9. August heat in Texas is comparable to January cold in New York. I was mostly stuck indoors.

10. But thankfully, there were pleasant beach walks in coastal Carolina during our quick girls-getawayโ€ฆ

Tomorrow we welcome the start of the โ€œberโ€ months. September, October, November and December are always special. Each brings at least one holiday and for much of America, a coziness that accompanies beautiful seasonal changes. I hope you enjoy each one of them๐Ÿ‚.

Thank you for reading and have a blessed Monday!

Both are a work in continuous progress. The older Iโ€™ve become, the more disappointing situations Iโ€™ve encountered/collected. Anyone over 50 usually says the same – but they definitely affected my positivity. It takes effort to focus on the good, so I need to be intentional about gratitude. Thank you, Dayle for your kind comment๐Ÿค๐Ÿค๐Ÿค.

I love summer, but it sure got hot. I love your statement–“August heat in Texas is comparable to January cold in New York.” And the “ber” months. I’d never thought of them that way.

The ber months were always fun in New York. This year will be very different without big weather changes in Central Texas. Enjoy your autumn season!
