Thank your for your visit and the follow. I enjoyed getting to know you via your About. Snail mail rules especially when it delivers a hand-written note on a little piece of stationary from a Grandmother especially when it contains a recipe ;). The beach is the place for me. Hello, Moma Duck! Thanks for liking my new blog and becoming a follower. Even though it’s a little late in my day, I am really enjoying reading your blog entries. I’ll be trying out some of those quick “yummy” recipes. I am a post-it junkie too, and I’m addicted to highlighting all my non-fiction spiritual formation books. Keep smiling….there are still a few good-doers out there. Glad I ran across one! I totally can relate to the lengthy online application process. Good luck in the job hunt. Blessings!

I am so happy to discover that you are following my blog! I so enjoy making my followers my friends, so you’ve gained another follower too. (I can tell by your brilliant smile that you are as beautiful on the inside as you are on the out.)

I am also pleased to discover that you enjoy non-fiction because I just heard that my new book, targeted toward women’s bible studies and motivating women toward true health, is “Life’s Too Short to Eat Bad Cheese . . .” (nutritional and life lessons God teaches us) should be published around July. I should be making an initial announcement in a month or so. Please pray it is well received for God’s glory and not my own. Blessings,

Hello newest Spikey! I know, a bit corny, eh, but that’s the term that has come to stick for those folk who are part of the clan known to be followers of Uncle Spike 🙂

Thank you… I really appreciate that as I for one, know how many interesting and entertaining blogs are out there.

My aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my ‘point n shoot’ attempts at basic photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day to day happenings here on the farm. Oh, plus a few observations on life as I see it, thrown in for good measure.

My promise to you is not to be overbearing, just a couple of posts a day, maybe 3 at weekends if I have something special to share. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process.

Hi, I commented on your recent post, and was led to a post you wrote from 2014 titled, ‘I didn’t want to leave church.’ I’m writing a post this week titled, A Full House, about how nice it was to have to search for a seat in the sanctuary on Sunday because God’s house was full. I’d like to use a quote from your 2014 post and leave a link after the quote to your post. It is really an excellent post and I agree with it. Church is restorative. Your quote I’d like to use:
“Church is not a social gathering for me. Sure, it provides fellowship, but more intimate relationships are experienced in small groups. Church service is restorative. You sound like a lovely lady; Mom, etc. My girls are 50 and 48; staying with the 48 yr. old and her family until I move back to AZ soon. Nice Blog; I’m just starting out but I think it’s fun!

After having read your article, I can only say, “wow!” You really know how to express yourself to others. It is like if you were writing your article on a plain white sheet of paper, using a “real ink pen,” with the ink still not dry on your final draft; that is the clarity and openness of your thoughts that goes into the things that you write. We have a lot in common and a lot not. The best – I’m a Christian for over 45 years and very active in my church. So thankful that God rescued me! My kids are grown, but college is in their past. Adjusting is constant. I miss being around them daily, but I’m so thankful they have found their adult lives! Nice to meet you!

  Nice to meet you as well! I agree that the adjustment is constant. They come home for summer and holiday breaks, they leave again for school…it’s a strange time of parenting for sure!
