Freestyle Alliteration …a Snowy Morning❄️

Bustling streets despite
Blustery winds

Busy people
Bemoaning the snow

But the weather doesn’t deter

Braving pelting ice
Behemoth buildings

By the dozens they enter

Buttons unfasten
Big scarfs tossed
Boardrooms fill with weather talk

Bored by noon
Brushing thumbs across phones

Booming news:
Blizzard conditions!

Brace for imminent accumulation

Blinds burst open
Big flakes revealed

Blaring email dings
Bequeathing worried workers early leave

Beat the worst still to come
Back at home safely

Banned from further travel

But those blankets of sparkle…
Beautiful through the windows

❄️

Thinking of many NYC, Philadelphia and New Jersey areas under a travel ban, I wrote this last night. I was inspired by my brother-in-law who takes the subway into Manhattan every morning, refusing to stay home – even in blizzard conditions!

Here it’s been busy and a struggle to carve out space for blogging. The only time I’m still is between 1am-7am the last few weeks😴💤. I continue working to get settled in the new home/state and establish a routine. Extra difficult when flying back and forth between TX and NY more often than originally expected. Eventually, things will smooth out!

Thank you for reading and I wish you a safe and good week ahead.❄️🩵

Well done on the alliteration! It’s definitely a different lifestyle when we live outside of those winter conditions, isn’t it?

Yes! Being back in that weather for a couple weeks made me appreciate the TX sun and not having to put on heavy coats and boots every day. It’s been a long winter in the northeast.

Very clever alliteration! I understand your desire to establish a new routine. It’s especially hard when the back and forth is something you did not expect. I live between two places. It is by choice, but it is still difficult every time we “move.” Right now I am just thankful that one of those places is not in Mexico any more. We lived for 7 years near the area of such great terror this week. I’m praying for those in the snowy northeast and those in Mexico.

Thank you for your kind and thoughtful comments, Linda. It has definitely surprised me how hard it is to establish routine and I need it very much. By midyear, I expect things to change and settle.
My son was on his way to Puerto Vallarta Mexico later this week. I am thanking God he wasn’t there when this all went down. The major airlines have ceased flights in and out and the Americans are struggling to get out.
Thankful you are no longer near that area either🙏🏻. Your prayers for the northeast and Mexico are precious this morning.

Nicely done. You caught the frigid feel with your alliteration. Husby and I play with alliteration a lot.
