Simple August joys and gratitude this month…
1. Outdoor summer grilling🥩🍔.
2. Spent a fun afternoon catching up with friends I hadn’t seen in seven years. Relationships surrounding our kids’ sports changed when they all attended different universities.
3. Celebrating my husband’s birthday with our young adult children🎂.
4. The power went off (on a sunny morning, unrelated to weather). The quiet hum of the central air conditioning, the clothes dryer, air purifier…all precipitously stopped. Absolute silence. A gift of tranquility.
5. No travel. Another welcome form of peace this month🕊️.
6. Thankful for friends who genuinely pray for my family. Treasures.
7. A much-needed rain storm☔️.
8. First 47° morning requiring a cute jacket. Fun now after a stretch of 90° weeks. Dread the heavy coats needed all winter…
9. Stopped walking at my usual fast pace at the park. Sat on a bench and stared at the water…for a long time. Pretty sure that was more beneficial that particular day than huffing trails, doing laps.
