Christmas in July

A brief, summer hello on this Friday…

I ducked into Hobby Lobby for a quick errand before going for a walk at the park. After seeing the countless aisles overflowing with Christmas décor, my eyes gravitated to pine and the appearance of holly (not actually holly berries) on my summer walk!

Returning home, I took a peek at a couple websites that run the Christmas countdown all year. December 25th 2025 is 5 months away…152 days according to The Christmas Clock!

I will continue enjoying the sun, green leaves and ease of summer before peppermint lattes appear at coffee shops by Labor Day!

Wishing you a relaxing weekend ahead, doing something you enjoy!

Thanks for the fun post, MLM! I so much appreciate summer (even with the sometimes stifling heat) after the six months of cold in Western New York. However, I am looking forward to the pumpkin coffee at Dunkin’ Donuts!

Yes, the winters are soooo gray and long, that like you, I want to enjoy these days even in the humidity. Who doesn’t love a good pumpkin coffee (only when it gets colder)😄🎃?!

Is actually possible to take a quick trip to Hobby Lobby? It never seems to be for me. 😁

😂Usually I’ll stay longer, but not that trip! It’s a pleasant place to get lost for a while.

Our parish has jumped on the trend with “Christmas in July” a tree with pledge cards to support the school in our sister parish in Haiti. That I can support. Otherwise I hate to be over Christmas before the day itself.

What a great idea! Less financial strain for families wanting to donate by doing it outside of the traditional Christmas season.

I know Christmas will be here before we know it, but I do wish that seasonal merchandise wouldn’t be prevalent so soon. Ah well, I still love going to Hobby Lobby.

Yes, me too. But when back to school supplies are out in June…it’s just a bummer. We Americans are too-often rushing to the next thing.

152 Days…oh my! I do love Christmas though. I really enjoy bringing out all the decorations and spending about a week slowly putting them up.

I agree with you – I love decorating and spending lots of time immersed in the festivities — just more ready when the calendar changes to late fall! Christmas is a warm, wonderful time to celebrate the birth of Jesus all month long!

Yes! Seize the day! (And the summer season!) It’s only the beginning of the commercials…🙃
