10 At The End – June

June highlight reel…

1. As posted on Wordless Wednesdays, traveled a few Upstate New York towns, doing quick walks through three state parks. We discovered a surprising number of waterfalls. Turns out, within New York State, there are well over 2,000 waterfalls-large and small.

2. June included… safe long drives and short flights; Father’s Day; Good friends – the kind you pick up where you left off despite the time in between – they are few and I appreciate them.

3. Enjoyed dinner with our former neighbors who we love and miss. Instead of a restaurant this time, we visited at their house. It was strange seeing no-longer-our-house next door.

4. Trip to New York City. Terrific seats at the Yankees game! Pics posted on 6/11/25 Wordless Wednesday.

5. Family dinner in mid-town before the game.

6. For the first time ever, I visited Jewish temple and police were stationed all around. While I appreciated the security, that they need it made me deeply sad and angry.

7. Weekend breakfast with my adult kids.

8. My daughter and future daughter-in-law and I toured a few mansions built at the turn of the century. Many were renovated and updated, but careful to retain the architecture and as many original items as possible – stunning structures.

9. Enjoyed sunset dinner – on an outside patio. I cannot express how rare this is to comfortably eat outside in warmth…I was especially thankful after a very extended winter.

10. Each day, every hour holds reasons to be grateful to God. Many of His blessings are what we consider ‘small’ but comprise most of our lives. He is faithful and I am thankful.

Cheers to the official start of summer! Thank you for reading and sharing your time with me on this final day of June. I wish you a sunny, enjoyable July ahead!

Thought I’d share one more image: We found a great latte and had lunch at CafΓ© Blue in Syracuse, NY. Located on the Inner Harbor, the cafΓ© had this canvas displayed on the wall. There were metaphors and symbolic elements that kept me staring the entire time we were there.

I have NOT been there 😊 It looked like the Vanderbilt Mansion in Hyde Park NY.

The Vanderbilt Mansion is significantly larger and more grand!

What a terrific month you had. I’d pass on the baseball and the mansions, but those waterfalls? My goodness, I’d enjoy those. Our Texas coast is so flat we never see a ‘waterfall’ unless it rains so hard they begin to form as water pours from highway overpasses!

πŸ˜„I’ve spent considerable time in Texas the last few years and completely understand! Many areas are flat, while the β€œhill country” outside Austin feels like a different state! And yes, the waterfalls are so refreshing…

The fact that police must guard Jewish temples and so many of our Jewish friends are fearful makes me beyond sad too. Prayers needed for their safety.

What a great June! I too am saddened by the anti-Semitism resurgence. Have we learned nothing from history? Hatred like that is pure evil.πŸ˜”
