The Book Shoppe and Coffee Café – Frisco, Texas

My daughter and I were driving in Frisco, Texas, when my neck snapped left, spotting an inviting shop labeled with two of my favorite words: coffee and books! Though my daughter lived close by for nearly a year, she was unfamiliar with the building. During the next two hours of errands, I kept thinking about that shop and told my daughter we had to turn around and visit.

Upon entering, we immediately gushed over the impressive bookshelves and tables greeting us at the door. Trying not to be stalled at the entrance perusing books, we moved further inside toward the coffee counter. They sell whole bean coffee for take-home and an array of choices to enjoy while you stay a while. Also for sale: candles, mugs and a few other novelties.

This is not a Starbucks environment, but a warm, cozy and quiet shoppe, encouraging you to slow down and relax.

After ordering lattes, my daughter flipped through her first book, tapping me with wide-eyes. “Mom, look!” She held a stunning hardcopy book by Pastor Chuck Swindoll. We were surprised to see a Christian read in what appeared to be a general book/coffee shop. Within seconds, we realized it wasn’t only a Christian bookstore, but the home of Insight for Living Ministries.

I discovered Insight for Living on the radio when I was dropping off my three in elementary school twenty years ago. Before Sirius became standard in every vehicle, I fumbled with this old fashioned thing called a car radio. Randomly one morning, I heard Pastor Chuck’s voice and he became my daily listen on the drive home.

Pastor Swindoll is a practical teacher which I deeply appreciate. If you’re not familiar with Insight for Living, and are interested, the resources are exceptional.

But, back to the coffee…

My daughter and I made our way to the fireside room, complete with a beautiful fireplace and more welcoming tables. We perused books, enjoyed our coffee and purchased a gorgeous book of Psalms, complete with photographs.

All my Texas travels continue to be interesting in one way or another. The Book Shoppe and Coffee café was a special treat because it was an unexpected surprise. We loved our visit and encourage you to check it out if you’re ever in Frisco!

Thank you for reading and have a wonderful Tuesday!

Frisco has so much to offer and it’s still booming. I love that type of bookstore.

You are so right, Frisco offers so much to do and see. I think you’re at the heart of that area somewhere, maybe the coffee shop/bookstore is within driving distance for you?☕️📚

I’m just south of Frisco in Plano. The quint places are hard to find, as well as bookstores but you can always find one with a bit of effort. 🙂

Our options for coffee shops are so few where I live, mostly Starbucks (unh unh) and Pete’s (meh). Yours looks spectacular.

We don’t get to Frisco much these days, it’s a long haul from Granbury, and the horses get too tired. Sounds like a shop I would like.

I haven’t traveled Granbury yet but I have a general idea where it is. If you like quiet and quaint, you’d love the shoppe!

Just a quick note: I’ve commented several times on your book reviews and I think they are going to spam since not one shows up in your comments. Someone else notified me yesterday they found a few of mine in their spam box. I just wanted you to know I enjoy and appreciate your reviews!🤍

Thank you for the heads up. I wasn’t aware that WordPress has a Spam folder, but when I went looking I found a comment from you back on 6/8/25. After I declared it “not spam,” I had to approve it. I’m hoping that will allow future comments to pass through. 😉
