In early December, I shared about Maverick, the Australian Shepard my youngest (Texas) daughter brought home one year ago.

In November, one year after Maverick joined the family, my son and his fiancée brought home a Golden Retriever!

Love or hate us, we are New York Yankees fans, and that’s how they arrived at the name Judge, named after Aaron Judge, on the NY Yankees. (Congrats if you are a LA Dodgers fan…)

While Maverick arrived from Missouri, Judge arrived in NY from Maryland!

For three kids that were raised without a four-legged-friend, so far 2/3 have become dog-parents in their 20’s!

Judge is growing fast, and already looks very different since his “gotcha day”. Apparently, he will eventually be around 80lbs!

It’s nice to meet you! Thank you for reading about my joining the family!

    He’s adorable! I’m not “big” on dogs (childhood trauma) but I love to visit with them as long as they don’t try to jump on me!

      I felt exactly the same as you most of my life! That was until our youngest brought home Maverick and now, we see Judge all the time. Dogs can be scary when they jump! Thanks for your comments🐾!

      Maverick is my daughter’s dog in Texas who we get to see occasionally. Judge we are lucky to see all the time! We enjoy them both, thank you Rachel!🐾💙

    I love your pretty dogs. If they lived here, they would have the name of a Philadelphia Philly or maybe even one our outstanding Eagles football players.

    Aw, golden retrievers are the best. My oldest sister and her brother-in-law’s golden named Maggie was such a sweet dog. One of the best dogs they ever had.

      That says a lot that Maggie was one of the best. We have heard that too-that they are very good family dogs. He’s a handful right now being a puppy!🐾

        They are busy puppies I guess, but my sister took the time to train Maggie as she did with their previous dog, a German shepherd. Both of those dogs were so well-behaved. Our son & his family have a Brittany and he too is very well-trained. I’m not dog person, but I liked all three of those doggies.

          Training seems to be critical during the puppy stage to ensure the dog is as well behaved as those in your family. Hopefully, my son and daughter will train them well! They are so much work in the puppy stage but the training will be worth the time investment.

    Ah! Golden Retrievers are a delight – such gentle souls (after the puppy phase). Our neighbors struggled to get theirs to walk on a leash. He was so excited by everything that he was airborne most of the time! But after he turned 2 he became the best family dog – always up for fetch with the kids or just to tag along where ever they went! Judge looks to be adorable!!

      Yes, Judge was over today and is still very much excited by everything! I think my son is hoping the puppy stage ends before two!😄 I’ve heard they become very sweet family dogs. Thank you!🐾
