This was a recent flight, newer plane-are the airlines removing back of seat screens? Or do you mean your phone is now required to connect to those newer screens, unlike the older ones?

We normally fly American from our small regional airport. The regional jets don’t offer WiFi and the transcontinental ones only offer it through your cellphone with earbuds/headphones or your computer. Haven’t seen a seat back screen in several years on any airline that I have traveled.
