My daughter and I started making plans last week, talking about going on a couple of local tours and taking a one-night Italian cooking class. Then, we both looked up from our phones nearly at the exact same time saying, “let’s wait until fall!” Living in New York, the end of summer is meant for the great outdoors – avoiding any more time indoors than is absolutely required.
In reading a little about this final month of summer and hottest month of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, I was reminded that August is also an adjective… respected and dignified; sublime, majestic…
“August is like the Sunday of summer.” – Unknown
I wish you slow, summer days…icy drinks…warmth on your face…the joy of seeing happy sunflowers and other blooms around your area…Happy August.
