I’ve read two Mom blogs recently where the Moms are going through a challenging time with their teenager(s). I’ve learned myself over the last few years (and I’ve blogged about it) that teens make their own decisions and definitely exert their own free will – at will. I keep this quote by Elisa Morgan (former CEO of MOPS (Mother’s of Preschoolers), author, and currently serves at Discover the Word) in my desk drawer along with countless other Mom-encouragements. I thought it was worth sharing with my fellow Mothers with teens:
“But we don’t get to control our kids. Their choices. Their consequences. Their place in the race of life. During a very trying time when my children were headed in directions I’d never imagined, a respected Christian leader told me “Elisa, we are not responsible for our   children’s choices. We are responsible for our responses to their choices.””                 Elisa Morgan, “Control and Motherhood”, Thriving Family.
