Maverick Update๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ

Published by

on

I first introduced Australian Shepard Maverick (my daughter’s dog) in December, followed by Golden Retriever Judge (my son’s dog) in February.

When Maverick was a puppy.

As I mentioned in I Wasn’t Much of a Dog Person Until… Maverick was a handful as a puppy, but what puppy isn’t? He has grown to be a playful, mild-mannered, very attached and cuddly friend. From what I’ve learned, the calm part is less expected with Aussies.

A year old.

I see him daily on FaceTime, keeping up with his shenanigans and funny stories – including his distaste for lettuce in the photos below.

Like most dogs, Mav eats what hits the ground during cooking hours. Lettuce? “No thanks!”

“Hmmm…this is new.”
He dropped it๐Ÿ˜„
“You must be joking…where’s the steak?!”

Thank you for visiting on this Monday. I wish you a terrific week ahead!

Those eyes! My son and his wife have 2 cocker spaniels that have grown on me over the years. One has the most mournful eyes but of course she is the rascal of the duo!

Those two little ones sound cute. Itโ€™s amazing how we grow to love them, isnโ€™t it? We didnโ€™t have dogs while raising the kids, but 2/3 of our children now made them part of the family! Thank you for visiting this morning๐Ÿพ.

Thanks for the fun exploits of Maverick! Our previous dog, labradoodle Gracie, ate everything but clams out of the can (used for clam dip). Our new dog, aggressive hunting terrier Alfie, eats clams no problem (along with live mice and chipmunks if he can catch them outside).

Whew! Live critters must be hard to watch, but if heโ€™s a hunter, thatโ€™s what they do. Sounds like you are a veteran dog owner!๐Ÿพ

My wife and I donโ€™t know a lot about dog breeds. She selected Alfie from a dog rescue website thinking he was โ€œcuteโ€ and not realizing he is a hunter on steroids. Heโ€™s hardly the demure lap dog that would have much better fit our circumstances.

lol he was a surprise for sure! The steroids reference painted the picture!

Adorable. My dog was an Australian/Black Lab. My vet warned me I had a puppy for life. She was a lovable blessing.

He’s very handsome! I’m really not a dog person either but our son’s Brittany named Barley won me over a long time ago. He’s not only handsome and smart but very well-trained and gets so excited when we visit.

He’s adorable. I had an aussie and a golden mix as a result of our golden getting out with our neighbors aussie. We were NOT happy but she proved to be an amazing dog! ๐Ÿ’—
