10 At The End – September 2026

1. Our hearts overflowed as we welcomed our first grandchild this month. A healthy, precious baby boy. Countless prayers over these many months were answered in every way. To God be the glory!

2. Watching my daughter become a Mama, and all the emotion that accompanies those first few days.

3. Seeing my son-in-law utterly, completely moved by the birth of his son🄹.

4. Two weeks before she delivered, my poor daughter thought her appendix ruptured and asked me while in horrific pain if she was dying. Long story short, she was hospitalized in the labor and delivery wing with kidney stones.

5. Baby fingers, baby toes, baby everything.

6. The last time I changed a diaper was in the church nursery a few years ago. It’s amazing how caring for an infant instinctively returns to us Mamas.

7. Earlier this month, I reminded my pregnant daughter how her hours, days and nights would change dramatically. I hadn’t considered how my own days and nights would also flip upside down. It has been a privilege and joy to walk alongside my daughter morning and night to help care for her newborn.Ā

8. Hours holding baby. Praying. Worshipping. Staring in awe. Of God. Of my baby girl bringing this soul into the worldļæ¼. Sustaining his life with her body.

Before baby’s arrival…

9. My daughter and I were discussing Dolly Parton’s accomplishments and legacy. Next thing I knew, we bought and baked Dolly cupcakes just because. I hadn’t made a boxed cake in over a decade when I did for a high school bake sale!

10. Started reading Theo of Golden by Allen Levi and Trusting God by Jerry Bridges. Hopefully, by next month I’ll have finished onešŸ˜‰.

September was divided into ā€œbefore and afterā€. Before the birth, we obsessed about the relentless Texas heat, discussed the mind-boggling news stories and court cases dominating the headlines, along with planning for Thanksgiving.

When baby arrived a little early, time slowed and I’ve been immersed ever since. I have missed your posts and engaging with you-and I’m thankful to be back online.
