Today is considered National Nurses Day, but also kicks off an entire week of gratitude for those who honestly do the brunt of the work. Though rewarding, wow, it’s tough! Emotionally, physically…it’s not an easy profession.
Someone precious in our life is an Oncology RN. Her experiences well up my eyes every time I hear one. Today, I thank her and all the (caring) nurses across our land.

National Nurses Day History: “National Nurses Day was first proposed in 1953 by Dorothy Sutherland of the U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare and was officially proclaimed by President Richard Nixon in 1974. This day has since been an occasion to recognize the invaluable contributions of nurses to healthcare.”
Florence Nightingale: Considered the founder of professional nursing. “Growing up in a wealthy family, Florence Nightingale was homeschooled by her father and expected to get married at a young age. However, when she was a teenager, Nightingale believed she received a “calling” from God to help the poor and the sick.”
